The wilderness can be a difficult place to find ourselves.. If we look within scripture, we find God’s people in the wilderness time and time again. The Israelites fled from the Egyptians and wandered in the wilderness for 40 years. Elijah and David fearing for their lives, found themselves fleeing into their own wildernesses. Even Jesus being led by the Spirit found himself in the wilderness. However, it is in the wilderness that we regain strength, we learn to rely on the power and provision of God, we experience the nearness and goodness of a loving Father, and with all of that we see the purpose and promises of God with clarity. The Israelites eventually made it to the Promised Land.Elijah experienced the closeness of God, had his strength renewed, and was sent out on mission. David became a king in place of the very one he had fled from.Jesus… Well, He redeemed all of mankind and now sits at the right hand of the Father. If you are in your wilderness, don’t give up hope. God has a plan and a purpose for your wilderness, too! This year at Beauty Unveiled, we will dive deep into the stories of God’s faithfulness in the wilderness and learn of His overwhelming goodness in the testing of our own faith. It’s going to be one WILD ride, but it’ll be worth every moment to see what God has waiting for us on the other side!
